Project History -- Organized and co-sponsored the Lyme Borreliosis Symposium 1992, a medical
symposium on the diagnosis and treatment of Lyme Disease. Co-sponsors included Abbott-Northwestern
Hospital and the Minnesota Institute of Public Health.
-- Represented the LDCM at the Fifth International Conference on Lyme Borreliosis, the Sixth Annual
Lyme Disease Scientific Conference, and the Lyme Disease 1994 State of the Art conference.
-- Consulted with the Committee for Lyme Legislation during the 1993 Minnesota Legislative session.
-- Initiated dialog with the Minnesota Department of Health regarding issues of public education and
patient surveillance.
-- Networked with outdoor organizations across the state concerned with the issues of people at risk
professionally and recreationally.
-- Researched and made available up-to-date educational materials on Lyme Disease prevention and
diagnosis.
-- Conducted Lyme awareness and prevention seminars for interested groups throughout the state.
-- Responded to telephone information requests on all aspects of Lyme Disease for patients, medical
professionals and the general public.
-- Funded limited Lyme Disease research and educational projects.
-- Supported the expanded "Tick Talk" support group newsletter.
-- Supported the website "Lyme Disease in Minnesota"

Our Mission -- "The objective of the Lyme Disease Coalition of Minnesota is to Network with others concerned with Lyme Disease and to work toward the accomplishment of:
-- The Education and support of health care professionals, researchers and people at risk.
-- The Promotion of understanding and awareness of Lyme Disease leading to effective prevention, diagnosis and treatment.
-- To broaden the network of people who would like to work with the LDCM.
